It is incredibly easy to use, so even if it’s your first time using a range finder, you will be able to use it without any problems. After reading this review, I hope you will be able to determine if this is the one for you or not. See you at the end!

Halo X Ray Z6X 600 Laser Rangefinder Facts

Package

The X Ray Z6X 600 comes with a really nice nylon case. It has a belt loop on the back, perfect for carrying it around through dense wood or vegetation. A lanyard is also included, but it is a bit smaller than you would expect it to be. It is better suited for your wrist than your neck. A small lens cleaning cloth is included as well.

There is no battery included. It requires a CR2. These can be somewhat hard to come by, so make sure you get one when you purchase this model.

The black design of this device is nice and can fit in anywhere. Also, there is good grip on the outer casing, so you don’t have to worry as much about dropping it accidentally.

Features Of The Halo X Ray Z6X 600 Laser Rangefinder

This unit can range up to 600 yards, theoretically. I will touch more on what I mean by this later. It is accurate down to plus or minus one yard. This one is best for shorter distances, so the farther out you range, the less accurate it will be. It can measure in yards or meters, which is pretty convenient.

One great feature is that it is capable of compensating for elevation. If you are up somewhere high, such as a tree stand, a rock or a hill, you will still be able to get an accurate reading. This is due to the integrated Al technology.

The magnification is 6x with an objective 23mm lens. Total eye relief is 15.5 mm. You can use this range finder with glasses without any problems, if you want to.

The LCD display is best read in broad daylight. The readout is black, so in low light conditions, it can be a bit difficult to read sometimes. If you are someone that plans to use a model like this in the early morning and evenings, this maybe could be an issue for you.

Size dimensions: 4.1” x 3.0 “ x 1.6 “. It only weighs 5.3 ounces, making it easy to carry along with all of your hunting or golfing equipment. Typically, units like this aren’t that big anyways, but this one is even smaller than the average range finder.

The unit will shut itself off after 20 seconds of inactivity in an attempt to save power. Golfers often worry about this feature as it can limit how long they have to get a good reading, but 20 seconds will be adequate for most.

The housing is weather resistant, which means that this one will not be damaged in the fog or rain, but using it in the fog or rain is another story, because the lens has a tendency to fog up quickly in wet conditions. This is something to keep in mind before purchasing, especially if you live somewhere with a lot of bad weather during the year.

Operation

Operating this one is very simple. There are only two buttons, the mode button and the power button. The power button will turn it on and off, and the mode button can be used to switch between modes. Many people have found that it is very easy to operate and they don’t even feel the need to reference the manual.

Uses Of The Halo X Ray Z6X 600 Laser Rangefinder

Bowhunting / Hunting

The design and size of this model makes it very easy to be carried around. The casing is slip resistant, so us clumsier folks don’t have to stress about dropping it accidentally. Apart from that it is very responsive, which is ideal for any hunter.

So, it’s advertised that the Halo X Ray Z6X 600 can range up to 600 yards. This isn’t entirely true. Reflective targets can be ranged that far, but for nonreflective targets, such as deer, it can only range up to around 200 yards. This one is best used for closer distances. The farther you range, the less accurate readings you will get.

I definitely recommend this one for bowhunters though, because is incredibly useful and accurate at short distances and it has elevation compensation integrated.

If you’re a rifle hunter and you know you will need to range long distances, this is not the best option for you. If you’re rifle hunting and only planning to range shorter distances, you will have no problem with this one at all.
Golfing

The scan mode on this model makes it a good option for golfing too, even if it has no flag-locking technology integrated. You shouldn’t have a hard time ranging a flagpole or anything tiny like that. Sometimes it may pick up background items, such as trees, but for the most part it works well.

Price

For around 130 bucks, the Halo X Ray Z6X 600 is a fine deal. Many of the more expensive options available do the same as the Halo. As long as you know what to expect from this model, you will have no problems with it.

Summary

The Halo X Ray Z6X 600 Laser Rangefinder is a great choice for bowhunters and golfers. Rifle hunters could use this one as well, but it works best at short distances. Overall, it is durable and reliable and it has angle compensation already integrated.

The price is on point for what it does. It isn’t the most technologically advanced option available, but it will definitely get the job done.

Thanks for reading and shoot straight!
