Do you want to hit targets at greater distances? Do you want to see more of your targets when looking through your sight? Then this one might be for you! We found a lot of customers that stated they can shoot up to 80 yards since using this sight and are very comfortable hitting their marks now. A big plus is that even archers or bowhunters with cross-eye-dominancy can use this model without any problems (provided they shoot with both eyes open and without using a peep. If you want to learn more about cross-eye-dominancy, I have an article about it here => How To Determine Eye Dominance). TRUGLO has delivered again and I hope you will read this review to the end to make your own decision about this cool product. See you at the end!
Usability And Adjustability
The TRUGLO Range Rover can be used by right and left-handed archers. There is a little screw inside the ring to switch the whole thing over. Just unscrew it, rotate it around and you’re done.
Elevation and windage are micro-adjustable, which means you do not need any tools for adjusting. Laser marks make the whole process a lot easier. While the horizontal adjustment is rather smooth, a few customers complained that the vertical adjustment can be a bit tricky from time to time.
This model can be sighted in very easily and fast (I have a guide about sighting in a bowsight here => How To Sight In A Compound Bow). If you are experienced enough it should not take any longer than 30 to 45 minutes.
Some customers were not sure if it was possible to sight it in at 10 or 15 yards as the manufacturer set 20 yards as the minimum. If your bow is fast enough you should be able to shoot rather flat from 10 out to 25 yards with the 20 yards minimum setting, so yes, it’s doable.
Here’s a general tip for sighting it in: Start with 20 and then move to the 50 yards, then find the matching tape. It is just amazing how accurate you can be with this.
Overall it is very easy to sight in, use and adjust and the generous field of view (without pins getting in the way) is a big plus for target shooters and bowhunters alike.
Product Features Of The TRUGLO Archers Choice Range Rover Pro Green Dot Bow Sight
Thanks to its rugged CNC-machined aluminum construction, this one is a very lightweight but nonetheless solid and durable option that will serve you well when roaming the fields. A neoprene cover for the lens gives additional protection.
The highlight is – of course – the illuminated Center Dot Technology. There is a green LED aiming point that substitutes the pins, which means there are no obstructions while aiming. A few customers were worried about getting problems with glare as the LED aiming point is in a glass lens, but that only happens if the sun is at a particular angle to you – even in bright sunlight. You could make a small scope shade but I am not sure if that’s worth it, as glare happens very rarely, if at all. Overall, the long range accuracy seems to have increased with a lot of archers that have bought this bowsight.
You can also buy a 2X magnifier (Truglo Range Rover 2X .50 Diopter Lens ) that enhances the field of view even more. I think it is awesome as it is, but it is always good to have more choices anyway.
The TRUGLO Range Rover has 11 brightness settings for the center dot, but you rarely need to go over 4 when shooting in low-light situations or during the day. Just don’t forget to shut it off when you are not shooting or bowhunting or the battery will drain faster.
There is also a light sensitive ring around the 1/2″ housing (glow ring) which supports the whole aiming process in a good way.
Over 40 pre marked yardage tapes come along with this sight. Another option would be to use white label marker tape to mark your own yards with a sharpie. This might be the best option if the pre marked tapes do not fit your compound bow 100%, which can happen from time to time.
A CR-2032 battery is included. It will last very long if you don’t forget to shut it off each time. Customers stated that they – even after a year – are still on the first battery, which is just great.
You will also get a limited lifetime warranty, but you have to cover the return shipping (around 12 bucks) if there are problems with your product and you have to send it in.
Mounting Features Of The The TRUGLO Archers Choice Range Rover Pro Green Dot Bow Sight
The mounting hardware is included and should fit most of the modern pre-tapped risers out there. There is also a quiver mount for attaching a bow mounted quiver (2 spacers to get it above the adjustment arm), so overall you should be good to go.
Finishes
The TRUGLO Range Rover is available in a black finish only at the moment.
Suitable For Hunting
Definitely yes. Seeing game without pins blocking the view is a great advantage. To prevent moisture (rain) when in the field, you get a neoprene cover along with the bowsight which helps.
You can use the sight in normal lighting conditions without the light without any problems. It might be difficult under low light conditions or rain, though, as the center dot gets very dark. This means that if you are in a state where it is illegal to hunt with an electronic sight, you might have to look for a different option.
There are no problems with halos and you can always turn down the light, of course, if necessary. Customers have used it under a lot of difficult weather conditions (rain, snow etc.) but they did not experience any problems (fogging up etc.), which makes the TRUGLO Range Rover a very reliable sight.
Do you still need a peep, you might ask? Well, you can, if you want to. Some bowhunters prefer one as it makes them very accurate, others want to enjoy the generous view and got rid of it, but it works for both groups of people. If you are cross-eye dominant, you probably shoot with both eyes open and without a peep anyway. If that’s the case, this one is is a very good option for you to increase accuracy and make the whole aiming process really easy.
Product Price
At around 150 bucks, the TRUGLO Archers Choice Range Rover is a very good option for beginners, intermediate shooters and seasoned pros that want to get rid of pins blocking their view. It might be not that cheap compared to other bowsights, but it is well worth the money. If you want some bang for your buck, this model might be just for you.
Summary
The TRUGLO Archers Choice Range Rover Pro Green Dot Bow Sight is just another model that can be used without pins blocking your view, thanks to the Center Dot Technology. Some guys are still convinced that shooting with a peep gives them more accuracy, but there also are a lot of bowhunters that find peeps and pins really distracting while roaming the fields – with numbers increasing.
For those guys, this one is improving their hunting experience a lot, which is all you can ask for. I would recommend it, especially for cross-eye dominant bowhunters (which means you are right-handed but your dominant eye is the left one), because it will make your experience and accuracy so much better.
I hope you got something out of this review and that you are now able to make a better decision about getting one or not.
Thanks for reading and shoot straight!

How can this sight be shot without a peep sight and still be accurate? I’m not sure that is the case.
